Color Types
Choosing the correct number of colors for your sign is very important. Weighing the costs and the benefits of each can help your sign catch all the right eyes. To help you understand the differences between the color types we've layed out the following diagram.
If the following examples do not explain the process well enough, please don't hesitate to give us a call at 1-877-292-0636.
1-Color
A 1-color sign means that your chosen design will be printed in one color of ink. For example, the above template would be a 1-color sign because pink is the only color used. White is not counted when the design is printed on a white material, since the material's color is not being printed. If you wanted a yellow material, the above example would show pink on yellow, but would still be a 1-color sign.
2-Color
A 2-color sign is simply a design printed with one more color than the 1-color sign. The above template contains only the colors black and brown making it a 2-color sign. Like the 1-color sign the white is only showing the material color and can change depending on the material you choose.
Full Color
A full color sign can be achieved in two ways. The first would be to use a color photo since a photo is printed by using four separate colors. This is illustrated above; the dog is full color like you would see in a magazine or color ad. The second is simply printing a design that contains three or more different colors, usually of separate solid colors.
Some larger sign sizes cannot be printed with full color. If your sign is full color and you choose a large size you may need to reduce the number of colors.
Standard Colors may not apply to Full Color, so any color is available.
